About

In a nutshell, Barry Allen is a compassionate, warm, funny, and intelligent young man. He has always wanted to help the helpless, and save those who couldn't save themselves. The night Nora Allen died changed him forever; it inspired and motivated him to try and be the change no one believed in.

Due to the trauma of losing both parents in a highly violent manner, Barry doesn't allow himself to grieve. As bright as he is, he has a darkness inside of him, and it often takes the shape of him feeling responsible for everything and everything. Barry Allen believes in the impossible, because he is the impossible.

The Flash

The Flash is the fastest man alive! Enveloped in brilliant red and gold streaks of electricity, the Flash exerts a gust of wind from the sheer momentum he creates when he runs. Powered by the Speed Force, the Flash originated in Central City, year 2015, nine months after a severe storm and particle accelerator explosion affected the city. The Flash has become a well-loved local hero, saving the city from numerous bad metahumans.

Abilities

SPEED FORCE/SUPER SPEED: This is one massive umbrella of an ability. Barry can run at superhuman speeds—he is pretty much faster than the speed of light by this point. As he can run from, say, one side of the continent to the other within a blink of an eye, he’s capable of much more within this ability. He can also process information, think, and even read quickly because of it. As he is connected to the Speed Force, the energy force that is essentially the source of his power, he’s able to harness it’s energy and even make himself go faster. As long as he abides by the Speed Force’s rules and doesn’t do Anything Stupid™, he’s ultimately protected by it.

☇ SPEED FORCE Barry's connected to the Speed Force, an energy field no one really understands. The Speed Force is the reason for Barry's powers. If he accesses the Speed Force, he has access to more advanced capabilities for his powers. Without the Speed Force, Barry is weak, and if it's removed from his body, he's a mere mortal.

☇ SUPERHUMAN SPEED He can run at varying superhuman speeds. He's unaffected by the side-erects — high friction, interim, air pressure, reduced oxygen, kinetic impact. He literally can run from one end of the city to another in the blink of an eye. His speed allows him to run up walls and across water. It's potentially limitless, and he may be one of the fastest speedsters in his universe.

☇ SUPERHUMAN AGILITY He's pretty good at his sharp turns. With incredible coordination, Barry's able to jump and run on falling debris. He can leap across incredible distances with enough build-up. He's like a cat on catnip.

☇ SUPERHUMAN REFLEXES His reaction time is literally out of this world. Able to react to things in the blink of an eye, he can stop a speeding bullet by grabbing it and not having it pierce his skin. He can dodge anything if he sees it coming.

☇ SUPERHUMAN STAMINA He can endure long running without much visible stress. He's capable of running for long periods of time without growing fatigued.

☇ SUPERHUMAN DURABILITY He's able to recover from attacks quite quickly. He can withstand Black Siren's sonic blasts, which were said to be powerful enough to kill a normal human. It's assumed if he's connected to the Speed Force, or one with it, his resilience is increased.

☇ ACCELERATED PERCEPTION He's able to process things super, super fast. Speed-reading is made even speedier with him. His comprehension is incredible and almost makes him a human sponge with how he can quickly read, absorb, and understand things.

☇ RAPID CELLULAR REGENERATION He has heightened healing capabilities. Fracturing his wrist took three hours to heal. When Zoom broke his back, he was able to heal, albeit slowly and painfully.

☇ BODILY VIBRATION He's able to vibrate certain body parts. He can vibrate his vocal cords to disguise his voice, as well as his face so he's unidentifiable. He can vibrate at different frequencies and levels of force. He can vibrate his hand to "phase" through anything, even a human body.

☇ SEISMOKINESIS Barry can create small tremors that essentially lead to a similar effect to molecular combustion. His vibrations can shatter seemingly impenetrable items.

☇ INTANGIBILITY: Barry can vibrate his molecules at the frequency of air, essentially allowing him to phase through. He's been able to extend this ability to actual items/objects, such as an airplane. He can vibrate other people's body parts.

☇ EXTREME FORCE GENERATION Much like a cat, Barry can use his accelerated movements to move through the air. He's able to mash through machinery without having to do any run starts. Because he moves so fast, he can sometimes find himself or someone else on fire due to the electrical currents around him. He once took Felicity for a joy run, and found that her shirt was on fire.

☇ AEROKINESIS As he can move very, very quickly, he's able to create vacuums of air. It's almost like he's an aeroplane propeller. He can spin his arms so quickly to create a tornado from his arms, using this wind to propel people away or extinguish fire. He can also use this to propel himself through the air.

☇ ELECTROKINESIS He produces yellow electricity whenever he moves at high and superhuman speeds. The static shock his quick movements make is what firstly identified him as the Flash to Iris West.

☇ TIME TRAVEL If he runs fast enough, he can breach barriers and travel back in time — forward and backward. He's able to access this ability without needing to be stressed, as that was its original trigger. Able to travel to a destination with pinpoint accuracy, it requires incredible concentration. A result of this ability is creating multiple timelines.

☇ INTERDIMENSIONAL TRAVEL He's able to run so fast he can break through and open portals between worlds. He can't quite control this ability yet, but he did get to meet Supergirl in her world by running a little too fast.

☇ SPEED MIRAGES Using his speed to make it appear as though he's in two places at once, this is accomplished by moving back and forth.

☇ SPEED FORCE SHARING Post-reuniting with the Speed Force after losing his connection to it, he can tap into the Speed Force and exert the ability onto someone else. He healed Jessie by using the Speed Force electricity.

☇ TIME REMNANT CONSTRUCT He's able to create a time remnant of himself, or a copy, by travelling backwards to a few moments before he time travels. The time remnant comes from a future that no longer exists, and allows two Barrys to co-exist in one timeline.

☇ SUPERHUMAN MENTAL PROCESS: His physical speed also extends to his mental ability. He's able to think very quickly. Cisco had compiled footage of tv shows Barry missed out on after his six month stint in the Speed Force and was able to comprehend everything despite the fact that it was on fast forward x crack.

☇ SUPERHUMAN PERCEPTIONS His senses are enhanced. He's able to sense someone's attack.

GENIUS LEVEL INTELLECT Barry is super smart and a very quick study. He's able to identify the size of a tire or a shoe by its print. He is incredibly bright and gifted.

EXPERT ENGINEER He also would come to create GIDEON, an artificial intelligence system that would be adopted by the Legends and contained future information. GIDEON was essentially Google. He also created cells (aka Pipeline) that had power capabilities, such as dampening. He's also a secret carpenter as he spent most of post-season 1 rebuilding the city.

LEADER Barry is the leader of Team Flash, growing into his leadership role over the years as he began to become comfortable making decisions. His team always looks to him for advice.

SPEED FORCE CONNECTION He has extensive knowledge of the Speed Force after spending six months inside of it. He also gained quite a power boost from his time in the Force.

INDOMITABLE WILL FT. HIGH PAIN TOLERANCE The one thing about Barry Allen is his ability to hope even when things feel hopeless. Despite his traumatic upbringing and experiences, he never gives up. Barry is quite persuasive and ambitious in believing in the people around him. He's able to take quite a lot of hits, too, mostly due to his incredible endurance thanks to his abilities.

☇ GIDEON The one from the time vault, please. Gideon is an artificial intelligence Future Barry creates, which is hidden in the time vault of S.T.A.R. Labs. She is pretty much like Siri or Google Home—she contains a lot of future information about the canon, in particular, a newspaper article from 2024 that was first introduced in season 1. Gideon is able to talk to Barry, tell him how to do things (like Google) in simplistic ways, not contain any future knowledge of game events or of Deerington, and to contain that newspaper article.
